Answer calmly and simply, without arguing or sounding embarrassed
Nathan tightened his grip on the ball, then let it go.
“I just do what my parents teach me from the Bible,” he said. “And I’m happy.”
The taller boy rolled his eyes. “Happy doing nothing?”
Nathan shook his head. “We do lots of things. Just not that.”
There was no speech in it. No dramatic defense. Just a plain answer offered without apology.
