Samuel smiled. “Thanks, it's timely information for sure.”
He was glad that he took the time to go over it again this morning.
After the chairman introduced him, he walked to the platform with that combination of calm and alertness that came from both prayer and preparation. The talk was well-presented. Samuel introduced, read, and explained Bible texts throughout. His tone was natural. He did not read from his notes more than he needed to. He did not rush his words.
And because he had prepared, he was able to focus on the material rather than on himself.
When the talk ended, he returned to his seat. Nathan leaned slightly against him and whispered, “YGood job, Dad.”
Samuel’s smile came more easily this time. “Thanks, buddy” He whispered back.
