"What matters is what Jehovah has already told us"
Samuel let a few seconds pass before answering.
“Real peace is good,” he said. “But people have promised peace before.”
Nathan listened carefully.
Samuel went on. “What matters is not how convincing something sounds. What matters is what Jehovah has already told us—and waiting patiently for the guidance he gives through his organization when the time comes.”
Sasha turned toward him more fully now.
He did not say more than that. He did not need to.
The answer was not dramatic, but it was steady. It left no room for fear and no room for wild conclusions.
Nathan sat back slowly, still thinking.
“So we don’t panic,” he said.
Samuel smiled faintly. “No. We stay close to Jehovah.”
Something in Sasha’s expression eased—not completely, but enough. She looked back out the window, and for the rest of the drive the silence felt settled instead of heavy.
