Chapter

The report itself did not disturb him. The world had always made promises it could not keep. What made him pause was the look in Sasha’s face. She was not excited. She was not alarmed.

She was weighing something.

And Nathan, without fully understanding it, had already stepped into the conversation.

Samuel thought of all the ways people could be thrown off balance by words that sounded hopeful. He also thought of the importance of not pretending to know more than Jehovah had revealed. Christians were not taught to chase headlines in fear or to build private interpretations out of every world development. They were taught to stay awake, to stay calm, and to trust Jehovah’s way of providing understanding at the right time.

Nathan asked again, more softly this time, “Is it good?”
