Samuel picked up his tablet from the edge of the counter and moved only a few steps away, close enough to remain part of the room. He did not disappear into another world. He simply made space for preparation.

Nathan kept coloring. Sasha glanced up once, saw what he was doing, and gave the slightest nod.

The outline and his notes were well-written and concise. Several key scriptures. A few practical points. An application of scripture here and there. A natural transition. Yet as Samuel reviewed them, his thoughts settled. What had felt vague began to feel clear.

By the time breakfast was served, he no longer felt the quiet tug of unfinished responsibility. The room was still warm. Only now, so was his conscience.
